I hope Twitter stays independent, it’s better that way. Will you still use Twitter if there are ads? I guess you won’t see any if you are using a client or app. Or would you prefer premium accounts?
Personally, I don’t mind 1 or 2 small link ads on the sidebar. It really depends on how they implement it.

A large number of Twitter profiles were infected with a worm from StalkDaily, a cross-site scripting (XSS) exploit that will make you auto-tweet recommendations to the site. You can get infected by visiting StalkDaily.com (don’t do it!), as well as by opening the user profiles of other infected accounts within Twitter.
But if you are infected, you can follow the steps below from Twittercism to remove it.
